Women Leadership Training : Nai Roshni

‘Leadership Training Programme for Minority Women

Sponsored by : Ministry of Minority Affairs Government of India

MDS conducted training programmes in Mewat district, Haryana in 5 villages i.e. Beri, Bhajlaka, Mehrola-I, Mehrola-II and Badelaki in June & July 2014 under ‘Nai Roshni‘, the Scheme for Leadership Development of Minority Women.

In every village 25 women trainees were trained with overall 125 women learning about central government’s ‘Janani-Shishu Suraksha Karyakram’ (JSSK). This scheme provides completely free and cashless services to pregnant women including normal deliveries and caesarean operations and sick new-born (up to 30 days after birth) in Government health institutions in both rural & urban areas. Access to healthcare in Mewat remains a huge challenge, particularly for women and children.

We hope these 125 women will become change agents and use this training to help themselves and their and community to avail the benefits of JSSK.
