Aims & Objectives

The aims and objects of the Mewat Development Society are:

  • To promote charitable values, art and literature, science, education, culture, music, dance, drama, documentary films, designs, libraries, collections, museums, etc. of general interest and welfare of public, as well as to disseminate and diffuse useful knowledge of related fields for the benefit of masses.
  • To conduct research studies on the Science, Technology and Society (STS) interaction; S&T Policy, S&T Information System; Spatial Technologies like Geographic Information System (GIS)/ Global Positioning System (GPS)/ Remote Sensing (RS) Applications, Internet and ICT applications like Web design & development, their hosting and maintenance, and  socio-economic conditions of the rural people with a view to evolve ways for their development within their socio-cultural and historical framework.
  • To explore the ways and means for promotion and cooperation for socio-economic development linkages in the country through sensitization of Panchayati Raj and Public Administration; and to undertake political awakening, environmental awareness, and studies related to natural sciences and social sciences.
  • To undertake, organize, conduct and facilitate courses, conferences, lectures, research and education, etc. on various aspects of science, technology and development, including healthcare and literacy.
  • To undertake contract, sponsored or consultancy assignments on behalf of government and non-governmental organizations for various purposes like socio-economic surveys, feasibility studies, techno-economic and marketing research, state-of-art reports, research and evaluation studies on various dimensions of science, technology, education and development.
  • To undertake training programmes for human resource development in view of the emerging needs such as entrepreneurship development, particularly among the youths, women, artisans, weaker sections; database development; land record computerization; resource mapping and survey methodologies; computer software; environmental studies; healthcare education; Indian system of medicine (ISM) – Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH); and energy related problems.
  • To undertake specific programmes for popularization and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the rural areas and promote/disseminate health-related messages to the rural society; providing education on constitutional rights and duties, right to information, human rights, consumer rights, legal advice, legal awareness, legal-aid, computer literacy, language popularization, technical and vocational education, and to propagate cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, etc.
  • To undertake and cooperate in the publication of journals, research papers and books, development of audio-visual programmes and distance education to disseminate knowledge pertaining to the objectives of the Society.
  • To establish, administer and maintain institutions, libraries and information systems and services to facilitate the study of the interaction of science, technology and society.
  • To institute and award fellowships, scholarships, awards, medals, prizes, titles, etc. in furtherance of the objectives of the Society.
  • To constitute or cause to be constituted regional centres for scientific, educational, technological, medical, commercial, economical, cultural, spiritual, mechanical, social, engineering, industrial or management, etc. studies at convenient places to promote and propagate the objectives of the Society.
  • To provide aid or establish any institution or adopt means for imparting, promotion of art, science, culture or any other field, quality education or propagate for removal of social evils, customs or render or promote self-help to overcome any of these evils, particularly for the poor or weaker sections of the society.
  • To create databases on medical services, arrange and make efforts to provide such medical aid and other assistance necessary for healthy living of the needy persons who are otherwise incapable or handicapped or mentally or physically retarded, and to financially uplift any person from poor classes.
  • To render any social, cultural, moral, legal and financial assistance, etc. for the betterment of the life of unmarried girls or boys, mass -marriages, widows or widowers, etc. from time to time and also to undertake issues related to gender, labour, environment, forest, empowerment, legal, global climate change, etc.
  • To arrange tours or provide to and fro conveyance to any person or persons to any place(s) of historical  importance or universally acclaimed religious place of any religion or places which may enlighten and defuse knowledge and/or for the avoidance or to reduce or remove the mental depression which may encourage and boost the spiritual instinct for living a better and happier life.
  • To render help, arrange, encourage and promote celebrations of national, cultural, social, historical and other such festivals and Jayanties, and also specific days like National Technology Day, Voluntary Blood Donation Day, World TB Day, World AIDS Day, World Book Day, World Environment Day, World Health Day, World Population Day, World Asthma Day, International Women Day, National Consumer Rights Day, Minorities Rights Day, National Safety Day, Children’s Day, International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, International Literacy Day, International Day of Disabled Persons, Legal Services Day, National Sports Day, National Science Day, etc. as are conducive to the fulfillment of objectives of the Society.
  • To communicate with the government, local and public authorities, etc. on various issues related to development, welfare and public interest on different subjects, and take active part in all possible campaigns and schemes of the state and central governments for the benefit of the people.
  • To issue appeals and applications and raise funds and accept gifts, donations and subscriptions in cash and kind and any property either moveable or immovable in furtherance of the objectives of the Society.
  • To create necessary jobs/works and appoint or engage persons for various works undertaken by the Society.
  • To do all such acts or things which are ancillary or incidental or necessary or conducive to the achievement of objectives of the Society.
